Opalis IP for BMC Event Manager

Incorporate BMC Event Manager with Problem Management and Response
BMC Event Manager serves as a "monitor of monitors" in IT ecosystems, allowing administrators to detect problem events that may impact critical IT services. Event Manager receives events from IT components and then filters, prioritizes, and correlates events according to operations priorities.

Opalis Integration Server connects data center components to the BMC Event Manager with automated processes that are simple, fast and effective. The Opalis Integration Pack for BMC Event Manager enables you to incorporate your Event Manager with your existing problem management processes and response procedures.

Automate Problem and Incident Management Routines Faster
Problem and incident triage often involves ad hoc phone calls, manual analysis and data re-entry. With Opalis, you can automate diagnostics routines, corrective actions and data transfer to other systems like a help desk - and finally realize the benefits of a self-healing data center.

Coordinate and Consolidate Events between Help Desk and Monitoring Applications
The Opalis Integration Pack for BMC Event Manager provides a simple, yet powerful graphical user interface for filtering events in Event Manager and auto-generating pre-populated trouble tickets in service management tools like BMC Remedy. Conditional logic and data look-ups can easily be implemented for auto-assigning these tickets to the appropriate help desk personnel or department, or escalating critical requests by email or pager. Similarly, BMC Event Manager event data can be shared and synchronized with other system monitors such as Microsoft MOM, HP OpenView Operations, or BMC PATROL.

Automation Policies

1. Integrate BMC Event Manager into Configuration Incident Management

In this example, Opalis detects a configuration incident and creates rememdiation packages to resolve it. If the incident cannot be resolved, then it is report to BMC Event Manager.

2. Automate Problem & Incident Management Processes

When an BMC Event Manager detects an incident, Opalis creates a trouble ticket, suspends looks up the item in the CMDB to determine if it is part of a Tier 1 Service. If so, the alert is automatically escalated and a response from an administrator is processed immediately.

3. Event Consolidation
