Most Data Centres make use of a wide range of monitoring,  management snd service support desk tools, from an equally wide range of manufatcutures, such as IBM, CA, HP, BMC, Microsoft etc and whilst these will be excellent at performing the tasks they are designed for, achieving integration between the  individual tools can be cumbersome.

Opalis Integration Packs extend the functionality of the Opalis Integration Server, providing special policy objects for other manufactures' management applications.

These policy objects automate activities, normally requiring manual intervention operations by the user. In so doing they allow sophisticated management activities to be called by any other system events and therefore facilitate complex sequences of automation to be achieved - all without scripting.

By providing this seamless interactivity amongst a wide variety of management layers, Opalis pushes data centre automation to new levels.

For example, whilst there are already tools for assisting in the provisioning of virtual machines, none connect this process with the initial condition which requires the virtual machine. This may be a user request logged in the help desk or even a monitored system failure.

Opalis can complete this automation deficit and connect the request with the the response, removing many manual help desk steps and therefore providing a more efficient and dynamic response to to changing requirements.
